United hit four to blow Dynamo Kiev away

Manchester United last night cruised into the last 16 of the Champions League. Sir Alex Ferguson's side brushed aside Dynamo Kiev after two goals in five first-half minutes gave them the springboard for a 4-0 victory at Old Trafford. Gerard Pique got his first in a United shirt, putting the Reds ahead after 31 minutes. Then the old firm of Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney got together with a goal each either side of the break. Cristiano Ronaldo added the gloss. Kiev have not won away from home in the Champions League since March 2000 - and although Ferguson made five changes, they never looked like halting United's progress. (Nigel Clarke, Daily Express)
